The Beekman, a Thompson Hotel, unveiled its newly renovated Turret Penthouse Suites and Terraces. In partnership with creative director Serge Becker, the inspiration behind Alley Cat Amateur Theatre (located in the cellar of The Beekman), La Esquina, Miss Lily’s and The Box, the hotel aimed to elevate the guest experience and expand the rooftop’s aesthetics and entertainment capabilities to provide for a setting for various events.
Guests enter through a large Wisteria Trellis to access the 800 sq. ft. Turret Penthouse terraces, now landscaped with ficus trees, rosebushes, hydrangeas, ivy and grasses.
The 1,200-square-foot Turret Penthouses, combined with the three adjoining terraces to accommodate up to 150 guests, crown the rooftop of the historical building. To access the space, guests arrive through a private entryway from the 10th floor of the hotel.
The dual one-bedroom duplex suites have 40-foot pitched ceilings accentuated by 19th century beaux-arts movement chandeliers. The ironwork and crystal in the fixtures reflect the eclectic style of the living space below, which blends luxurious and vintage furnishings with industrial finishes.
The first-floor welcomes guests with a lounge and dining area complemented by an antique stone fireplace, along with a wet bar, powder room and marble bathroom. The second-floor mezzanine looks down upon the entertaining space and features an imposing king size bed and freestanding clawfoot soaking tub. Dark stained wood paneling and aged oak floors run throughout the suites. Rich jewel tones in the furnishings and curated original artwork adorning the walls offset the deep hues.
The Beekman currently offers upscale accommodations; two onsite restaurants, Temple Court and Augustine; The Bar Room, which sits under the nine-story atrium; and Alley Cat Amateur Theatre, the lounge located in the cellar of the hotel.
The Beekman is located at 123 Nassau Street, New York, New York.
