The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, is collaborating with luxury shoemaker Jimmy Choo to offer a hotel package and afternoon tea that is inspired by the Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The on-property MO Bar will host the Jimmy Choo afternoon tea April 2-May 5 that includes edible miniature high heels. In addition, the hotel will offer the Jimmy Choo L900 package April 2-7 that includes the tea and a pair of shoes from the footwear brand’s 24:7 collection.
The themed afternoon tea at MO Bar will take notes from the Jimmy Choo spring/summer 2013 collection, which nods to the style of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s with embossed leather, fringes and tassels on footwear and accessories. One way that the culinary experience will showcase the Jimmy Choo brand is by using the bright colors of the spring/summer handbags and clutches.
Some food items will also take on the shape of Jimmy Choo products. Menu items include foie gras high heels on crispy brioche bread, ham mousse sandwiches with savora mustard and smoked salmon sandwiches with cucumber and cream cheese. The salmon sandwiches, for instance, will be shaped like this season’s Cayla clutch. The pyramid studs featured on the bag will be made from colored cream cheese.
