From Vuitton’s 1.000 euro plastic rain coat (Spring Summer 2011 collection), plastic boots and bags at Burberry to Christian Louboutin’s new stiletto’s, the so called ”trashy” trend has been gaining momentum. Designers say they are using cheap materials to create luxury products, yet still maintaining exclusivity, most of them appearing more sustainable and ”democratic” and at the same time highlighting the ecology factor. More brands are set to embrace the concept and further expand either entire product lines or ranges as well as capsule collection.
