Upcoming edition of DESIGN MIAMI to take place December 4-9

The upcoming edition of Design Miami will take place from December 4 – December 9 2012 in Miami, Florida and will feature the world’s leading galleries specializing in 20th and 21st century collectible design. As the global forum for design, Design Miami/ represents a convergence of commerce and culture. Its annual shows in Basel, Switzerland (June) and Miami, Florida (December) bring together the most influential collectors, gallerists, designers curators and critics from around the world.

The Design Miami tent this year will be adorned by a huge inflatable art piece titled Drift, hovering over entering patrons courtesy of New York-based collaborative practice Snarkitecture. Design Miami’s announcement says the piece will be made up of inflatable tubes assembled to look like “a topographical landscape in suspension: an ascending mountain above and an excavated cavern below.”
