Richemont has appointed Louis Ferla as CEO of Cartier, succeeding Cyrille Vigneron, effective September 1. Currently, Ferla serves as CEO at Vacheron Constantin. He previously served Cartier as international director, clients and business development, and as China CEO.
Prior to that, he had been regional director of the Middle East, Africa, and India, as well as Managing Director of Taiwan, with Cartier. “I am delighted that Louis Ferla has accepted to take on the top role at Cartier,” said Johann Rupert, Richemont Chairman.
Vigneron will assume the position of chairman of Cartier Culture & Philanthropy, effective September 1, and will work with Ferla to ensure a smooth transition, Richemont said in a statement.Vigneron said: “We are delighted to welcome Louis back to Cartier. His outstanding leadership skills, exceptional business acumen and deep affinity for our Maison make him the ideal candidate for the role. I look forward to working with Louis in my new role.”
Cartier is reported by Morgan Stanley as the second-largest Swiss watch brand, with a turnover estimated at CHF 3,100 billion and 660,000 units sold in 2023. “I have always admired Louis’ strategic vision and inspiring management style, which have served him well in turning Vacheron Constantin into one of the world’s leading luxury watchmakers,” added Nicolas Bos, CEO at Richemont. “I look forward to seeing Cartier continue to thrive under his leadership.”
