Italian fashion group OTB makes a major retail move in the historic heart of Venice, and it’s one which involves store openings for no less than five leading names from its portfolio—Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni, and last but not least, DIESEL. The latter brand, similar to all others, has been allocated a ground floor unit on Piazza San Marco, a world-renowned historic square in the heart of the city.
The retail space sits on the premises of the Ala Napoleonica, or Napoleonic Wing, built in the early 19th-century, which has seen a meticulous renovation in recent years. The interior design, created by DIESEL‘s in-house design team, aims to reflect Venice‘s glorious heritage and the building’s history, albeit with a modern and innovative approach. The palette, comprising travertine marble, cocciopesto plaster, raw rusted metal, and mirrors with a foggy surface, aims to capture and reflect the sense of old and new, but also innovation.
The chosen aesthetic stands out for its particular attention to the choice of finishes, all carefully curated and inspired by both the city and the history of the building that houses the store. The new DIESEL store carries a selection of men’s and women’s denim, apparel, accessories, bags and shoes.
