Tucked away in the evolving district of Nine Elms, along the quiet curve of the River Thames, the Park Hyatt London River Thames offers a modern and refined escape from the energy of central London. With panoramic views across the water and a calm, contemplative atmosphere, this newly opened flagship property introduces the Park Hyatt brand to the UK with a confident sense of sophistication.
From the moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped by an ambience of serene luxury. The design language throughout the hotel masterfully combines natural textures and curated artworks with contemporary lines and a palette inspired by the city’s ever- changing light. A sculptural wooden installation named Ebb and Flow anchors the lobby—an homage to the river itself and a poetic introduction to the thoughtful aesthetics found throughout the property.
My suite, located on one of the upper floors, was a peaceful haven with floor-to-ceiling windows that offered uninterrupted views of the Thames and the distant skyline. Every detail was intuitively considered: from the automated blackout blinds and curated art pieces to the marble-clad bathroom equipped with Malton Brown amenities and a Japanese smart toilet. The space was quiet, cocooning, and effortlessly luxurious— ideal for both moments of solitude and morning light.
The dining experiences at Park Hyatt are both sophisticated and welcoming. Breakfast on the outdoor terrace at Nine Elms Kitchen allowed for a gentle start to the day, watching boats drift past while enjoying a menu that balanced international classics with fresh, local ingredients. Tamis, the hotel’s tea lounge and wine library, was a standout—elegantly layered with over 2,000 labels and an afternoon tea service that elevated tradition with subtle innovation.
A few months after the hotel’s grand opening, I was invited to dine at Yú Gé, the Cantonese fine dining restaurant crafted in collaboration with the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong team. It was an evening of exquisite balance—bold Cantonese flavours presented with artistic finesse, perfectly paired with curated wines and teas. The level of culinary precision, from delicate dim sum to signature mains, was matched by the staff’s knowledge and warmth. Yú Gê is an essential addition not only to the hotel’s culinary portfolio, but to London’s broader fine dining landscape.
The hotel’s wellness floor is among the most serene in the city. Anchored by a sunlit 20- metre indoor pool and state-of-the-art gym with river views, the spa promises a deeply restorative experience. I indulged in an anti-ageing facial using premium, scientifically backed formulations that left my skin visibly radiant and rehydrated. The treatment, delivered with exceptional expertise, struck a perfect balance between relaxation and results. Soma dome meditation pods and soothing relaxation areas complete a wellness journey that truly caters to mind and body.
Service throughout my stay was polished yet sincere. Staff members were attentive in a quiet, unobtrusive manner that elevated the experience without ever overwhelming it. Whether it was a subtle check-in at breakfast or seamless housekeeping, the human element of hospitality here reflects Park Hyatt’s commitment to discretion and personalization.
If there is one consideration, it’s the location. While Nine Elms continues to grow and develop, it doesn’t yet have the neighbourhood charm or walkable appeal of more central areas. However, efficient transport connections—including the Northern and Victoria lines, riverboat services, and nearby Battersea Power Station—ensure easy access to the city’s cultural and commercial heart.
Park Hyatt London River Thames is not just a luxury hotel—it’s a curated environment where comfort, design, and serenity coexist. It’s a place to retreat, reflect, and reconnect, all within view of one of London’s most iconic rivers.
My sincere thanks to the team for delivering a quietly extraordinary stay.
