Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus – the Ramadan destination of choice

Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Bosphorus is preparing to be the favourite Ramadan destination, with both its delightful ambience by the Bosphorus as well as its rich buffet- style iftar, which has now become a tradition. This year guests will enjoy unprecedented Four Seasons service and rich offerings at various venues of the Hotel.

AQUA Restaurant

The buffet at Aqua, which boasts a unique atmosphere overlooking the Bosphorus, offers a rich selection that includes delicious iftar appetisers, cool sherbets, traditional olive oil dishes, barbecue varieties, döner kebab, and flatbread (pide) varieties from the wood-burning oven as a classical Turkish music ensemble “fasıl” accompanies the dinner. For those with a sweet tooth, the pastry team will prepare traditional Turkish desserts such as baklava and a selection of milk based puddings served with homemade ice-cream; and of course signature beverages of Ramadan such as homemade sherbets and compotes to keep everyone hydrated. The Ramadan Festivities that will be held at the Hotel throughout the month will feature a spiritual Sema ceremony with whirling dervishes while guests wait to break their fast with iftar. Guests will also be able to receive gifts in the form of traditional Turkish paper marbling and calligraphy works created by local artists.

Ocakbaşı Restaurant

The 14 glass igloos positioned around Ocakbaşı Restaurant, which is located in one of the most beautiful spots on the terrace, are where guests will be served a rich, delicious set menu by the breathtaking views of the Bosphorus. This special set menu is complemented by soft drinks, coffee and tea. The glass igloos also offer a unique option for guests who wish to enjoy the sahoor (pre-dawn start of the fast) in a private atmosphere with their loved ones.Shisha and food and beverage service will continue until 3:30 am.

Ocakbaşı Restaurant 5 course iftar set menu price per person is TRY 295 + TRY 200 igloo rental fee.

Ocakbaşı Sahoor will be served as a la carte + TRY 200 igloo rental fee.

Bosphorus Iftar Sofrası

As a first this year, the Hotel will also offer a special option with a set menu for companies and groups of 10 by the outdoor pool. Iftar menu will include soup, family style mezzes and iftariyelik traditional warm appetiser, main course and dessert.

Ramadan Fest

This year, lively entertainment program of the Hotel presents the spirit and essence of Ramadan. Guests will be able to discover the local culture on Hotel’s spacious terrace by the stunning view of Istanbul and experience memorable moments.

Sema is part of the inspiration of Rumi as well as Turkish custom, history, belief and culture. A Sema ceremony – the Whirling Dervish- will be performed on the terrace 30 minutes to İftar every day.

The Turkish art of marbling ebru is the art of creating colourful patterns by sprinkling and brushing colour pigments on a pan of oily water and then transforming this pattern to paper. It will be available on the terrace between of 5:00 and 9:30 pm.

Turkish calligraphy is a unique artistic creation although calligraphy itself is not of Turkish origin. Ottomans adopted it with religious fervour and inspiration, taking this art to its pinnacle over a five hundred year period. Calligraphy hatavailable on the terrace between 5:00 and 9:30 pm.

Ottoman candy Osmanlı macunu is alive since 1527 and this tradition will be continued between 5:00 and 8:00 pm on the terrace.
