Not everyone knows what it feels like to be rich. When we talk about wealth, the whole concept is really confusing. Some associate it with an endless stream of brands and labels; some think of it as good food. For some, it is a big house with the most modern interior. But it’s different for everyone.
And it is portrayed in movies in a completely different manner as well. And that’s what is so entertaining about it as well. If you are missing out on all those movies, then we recommend you head over and gear up for these good movies to watch on their respective streaming services and will also guide you on how to get them in your region.
So without much talking, let’s dive into this luxurious ride:
Richie Rich (1994)
Genre: Comedy, Family
IMDb: 5.4
Director: Donald Petrie
Cast: Macaulay Culkin, Edward Herrmann, John Larroquette
You know what to expect when even the movie’s name has the word rich in it, twice! An ultimate childhood favourite starring our very own Macaulay Culkin, then face of the infamous Home Alone 1 & 2. Richie Rich is about a boy born with a silver spoon, the wealthiest baby in the world. But nothing about his wealth makes him arrogant. Instead, he is also the most humble kid with the best parents in the world despite having everything he can ask for. Including a whole Mcdonald’s franchise in his home. And not to forget “Mount Richmore.”
Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance
IMDb: 6.9
Director: Jon M. Chu
Cast: Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh
If you want to see more of the rich, then another movie with the word rich in it is Crazy Rich Asians. Definitely a part of the most popular show and movies on Netflix. And indeed, it is crazy, with a crazy bachelor’s party in the middle of the sea on international waters. And the bachelorette is having her own celebrations at her mother’s private island with its very own resort. And let’s not forget the wedding of the century, shouldn’t miss that one out.
Legally Blonde (2001)
Genre: Comedy, Romance
IMDb: 6.3
Director: Robert Luketic
Cast: Reese Witherspoon, Luke Wilson, Selma Blair
Reese Witherspoon is a total boss lady in this one. From being the privileged yet extremely sweet and humble girl in high school suddenly sees herself moving away from the love of her life, who breaks up with her and moves to Harvard Law School. Rejection didn’t go well with Elle, and to get him back, she enrolled in Harward like nobody’s business without having to worry about student loans or the fact that she spent thousands on redecorating her room, all pink.
The Devil wears Prada (2006)
Genre: Comedy, Drama
IMDb: 6.9
Director: David Frankel
Cast: Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Adrian Grenier
If you work in fashion, you are rich; if you are the editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine, even more. The fancy dresses, the heavy mink coats shouts RICH RICH RICH! In all aspects. And did we mention the butter seared steak for lunch from a fancy restaurant that goes down the trash? That was brutal and let us not forget the endless fashion shows, gifts and whatnot. If that doesn’t speak rich, I don’t know what does.
The Princess Diaries (2001)
Genre: Comedy, Family, Romance
IMDb: 6.4
Director: Garry Marshall
Cast: Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway, Hector Elizondo
The epic transformation from the goofy weird girl to a gorgeous princess itself is a luxury that we seek (secret Queen Grandma can reveal herself already). The Princess Diaries is a treat to watch, when Mia has a fantastic makeover, yup the one we cannot afford at all. Anne Hathaway is young, and breathtakingly beautiful, as there is a famous saying, you’re not ugly, you’re just poor.
Fifty Shades of Grey (2015 – 2018)
Genre: Drama, Romance, Thriller
IMDb: 4.1
Director: Sam Taylor-Johnson
Cast: Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Jennifer Ehle
Mr. Grey is ready for you, and so are we! Enter the sophisticated and steamy lifestyle of Mr. Grey and everyone attached to it. For Ana, this was shocking when she received a car for her graduation, then an array of Apple products, and then not to mention the house, cars, private jets and a month-long honeymoon. Mr. Grey bought airlines and publication houses for Ana’s safety and security. I know I would love to have a bit of that in my life.
