Louis Vuitton has opened a Savoire Faire boutique on the premises of Goya Studios just off Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The utilitarian premises have been completely transformed, starting with the studio complex’s entrance which now resembles a lush, well-manicured villa garden on the French Riviera.
The ephemeral store sees three distinct sections, each featuring an immersive universe dotted with specific merchandise. A lavish Parisian apartment with crystal chandeliers and trompe-l’oeuil balcony views of the Eiffel Tower boldly references the roots of the house, and is dotted with Louis Vuitton‘s iconic trunks, and more specifically, black & white Jacquard print trunks, glamorous red carpet gowns wornn by some of Hollywood’s leading actresses, and a collection of jewellery, bags and accessories.

The following space is an unapologetic homage to the brand’s historic workshop in Asnières-sur-Seine, and sees another specially designed setting with more iconic trunks, including an LVXNBA trunk crafted from calfskin leather to make it look and feel like a basketball, a sneakers trunk and an Epi leather foosball table.
Last, the house’s Objets Nomades collection gains the limelight in a sunny beach décor with palm trees, albeit using footage of nearby Malibu, featuring designs such as Tokujin Yoshioka‘s Petal stools, a woven leather hammock designed by atelier oï, and as an obvious nod to Southern California, a surfboard by multimedia artist Alex Israel (open through September 25, 2021)
