Arsenale Group and Egypt National Railways signed an agreement yesterday in Cairo for the construction of the first luxury “Made in Italy” train in Egypt. This is Arsenale’s fourth international project for luxury rail cruises, following announcements in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan.
Starting in 2026, it will be possible to travel on a luxury train – completely refurbished in specialized Italian factories based in Puglia and Sicily in Southern Italy and inspired by local glamour and design – which will take passengers on a one-way trip from Cairo to Aswan, with reserved stopovers including Luxor and Abu Simbel. The agreement was signed by Mohamed Amer Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Egypt National Railways, and Paolo Barletta, CEO of Arsenale
Paolo Barletta, said: “We are excited to start this strategic partnership with Egypt National Railway to bring our luxury rail cruise model to Egypt. Rail cruising is the future of tourism and Arsenale’s commitment is to ensure that it arrives in all the most beautiful countries in the world, introducing a new way of traveling that is fascinating and, at the same time, sustainable.
Egypt is a country rich in history, beauty, culture and charm and has the perfect conditions to welcome tourists who are looking for a unique and unforgettable experience. I thank Egypt National Railway for this partnership and for believing in the opportunity that a model like this will bring to the tourism segment”.
