Mercedes Benz has annouced plans to double its production capacity in its Hungarian plant where it manufactures its smaller models as well as to develop a 800 million euro new production facility. Audi also confirmed its intentions to increase its production of vehicles to 125.000 units. Analysts consider that the two major investments are likely to contribute to a 3% growth of the country’s GDP this year and 4% in 2012. Hungary’s Finance Minister estimates a growth rate of 4 to 6% 2013-2014.
