Baume & Mercier unveiled earlier this month a new line of ladies’ watches, the Promesse collection. The watch concept is a recognizable descendant of a classic 1970s model from the Baume & Mercier museum collection. The launch is being staged, gradually, with dedicated lavish events in major cities around the world, culminating with the availability of the collection in stores, in September.
Featuring an oval bezel inside a round case, the face features a reflective mother of pearl pattern designed to catch the light like ripples on water. The watches will come in a choice of two different 30 mm and 34 mm sizes, with a further choice between a Swiss-made quartz caliber or a mechanical self-winding movement according to each model.
Prices range from 1,550 euros for a polished steel model with a black calfskin strap, to 5,900 euros for a black polished steel version with 61 diamonds on the bezel, 8 diamonds on the face, and an alligator strap. Other options across the range include red-gold capped steel two-tone bezels and steel bracelets. The watches will roll out from September via the Swiss brand’s stockists.
