Burberry has recently opened a new concept of the Thomas’s Cafe in Shenzhen, a dedicated space for the Burberry community, named after its founder Thomas Burberry. His legacy of bringing people together included helping to build a clubroom in his home village of Hook in Britain in 1912.
The menu celebrates English and Chinese tea culture, and evolves as customers’ social currency advances, unlocking new menu items. Burberry’s Creative Director Riccardo Tisci designed the cutlery and china, which is exclusive to the Shenzhen store. The café is designed to be dynamic, and can be converted into a community space for activities including talks, workshops, exhibitions and live performances.
