Donna Karan is not at all happy with her relationship with LVMH, the company that acquired her brand in 2001 for about $ 450 million. In an interview with the New York Times, Karan said she would like to work more closely with the French giant, but that was not possible because LVMH would have “turned their backs”.
According to the designer, the luxury giant has not supported the creation of a new collection of luxury handbags and the result was the loss of some of its major customers, such as Bloomingdale’s, which blocked the orders of the brand for about six months. The cause was, according to employees of the designers, the lack of relationship between Karan and Delphine Arnault, LVMH’s executive vice president, despite the interest shown by the designer.
