French luxury trunk-maker Goyard has opened its first Italy store in Milan on Via Gesù .The store covers 70 square metres and is located on the corner of the prestigious Via Montenapoleone.
Founded in 1792, the luxury house opened its first boutique in Paris in 1834, at 233 rue Saint-Honoré. Under the helm of Edmond Goyard, the fashionable brand was a favourite among many global celebrities.
The new boutique is the eighth to bow, following store openings in San Francisco, New York, Mexico, London and the two addresses in Paris (233 and 352, rue Saint-Honoré). Goyard also boasts 21 “sales counters” inside department stores and malls across the U.S. and in Asia (Japan, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore).
The Milan debut is part of a global expansion plan for the brand — all the while preserving its distribution exclusivity. As stated on the maison’s website, “Goyard products are uniquely sold via our sales counters. No products are sold online”.
