Following closely on the opening of The Meydan Hotel in Dubai, from 1 April 2026, Kerzner International will assume management of the Hospitality Division of Shamwari Private Game Reserve, owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai, as part of our growing Rare Finds portfolio.
Shamwari represents a strategically important addition for Kerzner. Spread across 25,000 hectares of protected wilderness and home to the Big Five, it is internationally recognised for its leadership in wildlife conservation, community engagement and responsible tourism. This partnership deepens our long-term commitment to South Africa while expanding Rare Finds into one of the world’s most respected conservation-led safari experiences.
Through Rare Finds, we unlock exceptional destinations and introduce them to a global audience remaining true to each place’s individual identity while guided by our standards of luxury, Amazing Experiences and Everlasting Memories. As with Bab Al Shams and The Meydan Hotel, our focus will be to preserve Shamwari’s individuality while integrating it into the Kerzner ecosystem, supported by our operational expertise, global platforms and distribution reach.
Leadership continuity remains a priority. Joe Cloete, who had dedicated 34 years to Shamwari, will continue as Chief Executive Officer, ensuring stability and alignment as we enter this exciting new chapter.
