Italian department store chain La Rinascente, owned by Thai based Central Retail Corporation, announces the opening early 2015 of a new flagship store in Rome. The company acquired last year a 17.000 sqm palace building in Rome’s central Via del Tritone (bulding currently occupied by Zara). With the new opening in Rome, La Rinascente aims for establishing a solid base for the international expansion of the department store chain. Internationally, La Rinascente, will be competing with Saks Fifth Avenue, Harvey Nichols, Gallerie Lafayette and Printemps – most international locations being operated in franchising (outside the home country of each store).
