The 2013 edition of the Geneva Motor Show opened its doors today, with some of the major luxury carmakers unveiling spectacular new models. Lamborghini unveiled the Veneno, a ultra luxury limited edition sports car which is a first in a series of models of which up to 3 cars will be made. The Veneno comes at a price tag of 3 million euros.
Rolls Royce unveiled today its bold new, 2 door model, the Wraith. The Wraith will be more expensive than Bentley’s family of Continental models, however, so it will actually carve out a small market segment that is currently not served by anyone, Rolls-Royce’s chief executive Torsten Muller-Otvos told BBC News during a recent exclusive preview event near the carmaker’s Goodwood factory. The Wraith’s V-12 engine makes it the most powerful and fastest (0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds) Rolls-Royce ever.
Aston Martin has officially presented the new Aston Martin Rapide S model. Essentially a facelifted version of the outgoing Rapide, the S is distinguished by a new front fascia that complies with pedestrian safety regulations. While it won’t appease everyone it includes a new front bumper, a revised hood and an enlarged grille that retracts upon impact.
The interior also receives some minor updates including additional sound deadening material and a darker instrument panel surround. New options include two-tone perforated leather seats, piano black trim and a bespoke design service called “Q by Aston Martin.”
