LOEWE has recently opened a new store in Sydney at Westfield Sydney, the leading high-end shopping centre in the heart of the city. The LOEWE store occupies a double unit, measuring a total of 245 sqm. (2,637 sq.ft.), perched on the third floor. The interior design, created by Anderson and LOEWE‘s in-house design team in Madrid, takes ample cues from the brand’s Casa LOEWE retail concept, blending elements of an exquisite collector’s home with those of an elegant retail space, all captured by a myriad of hues and materials.

The colours deployed throughout the store evoke the beauty and majesty of the nearby Pacific Ocean, boasting handmade tiles in shades of blue, emerald and jade, complemented by concrete, oak wood, brass and turned iron, which add warmth and depth. Similar to other LOEWE stores across the planet, this retail space is dotted with a curated selection of furnishings and artworks, including Dutch designer and architect Gerrit Rietveld‘s chunky Utrecht armchairs, an Akari 33N light sculpture by Isamu Noguchi, various LOEWE signature pieces, such as Spanish-style black iron martini tables and podiums in various finishes.

Underfoot, a series of bespoke wool rugs, made in Spain, feature colour-infused reproductions of tapestries by British textiles artist John Allen. As for the artworks, it’s also meticulously curated, including Mexican artist Andrés Arna’s LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize-winning piece, which is I Only Know What I have Seen, ceramic vases by South African potter-artist Hylton Nel, and a painting by Indian painter Mahesh Baliga. The new LOEWE store stocks women’s and men’s apparel, bags, accessories, shoes, small leather goods, eyewear, jewellery pieces and fragrances.
