Louis Vuitton presented today its Fall Winter 2013-2014 collection during Paris Fashion Week, in line with the new strategy outlined by owner Bernard Arnault last year – less logo on all products, especially accessories and less recognizable designs. Much like the Spring Summer collection which has been dominated by the sharp neon colours, Vuitton’s new collection includes many seasonal pieces, a very sensible approach of encouraging sales and limit carry-on classic pieces which can be worn the following season.
For 2013, Louis Vuitton reported its slowest growth in sales since 2009, and Bernard Arnault’s immediate measure were to slow down retail expansion and ‘instruct’ Marc Jacobs to produce collections with minimal logo placement and more seasonal pieces thus aiming to boost sales.
