Anchored by two private lakes, the new One&Only Moonlight Basin luxury resort is located within the Moonlight Basin community, situated on 240 secluded acres and bordered by 17,000 acres of protected land, One&Only said. The resort is an hour’s drive from Bozeman and adjacent to Yellowstone National Park. It offers a mix of rooms, suites, cabins and home rentals.

The resort’s Main Lodge, East Lodge and West Lodge are comprised of guestrooms, interconnecting family rooms and king suites with separate living areas. The Big Sky Suite features a wraparound terrace with an outdoor soaking tub and panoramic views. Freestanding cabins offer additional space and seclusion, with a private outdoor soaking tub and sitting area beside a fire pit.
The One&Only Moonlight Basin’s four- to six-bedroom Private Homes offer an elevated residential experience, each with indoor and outdoor living spaces and views of forests and snow-capped peaks. The homes feature fire pits, hot tubs and gourmet kitchens. Each home has garage access.
One&Only said “eclectic American comfort food meets imaginative alpine cuisine” at The Landing, located in the Sky Lodge. “Ranch-to-table delicacies” and daily breakfast are served at Wildwood in the Main Lodge. Akira Back, a Japanese restaurant by the Michelin-starred chef of the same name, serves dry-aged steak, prime wagyu cuts and seafood flown in from Japan.
In the Main Lodge, Dear Josephine is an intimate cocktail bar that reminisces Montana’s Prohibition era and is named for bootlegger/moonshiner Josephine Doody. Tucked away in the woods, Moonshack is a speakeasy-style cabin with a menu of fine whiskeys and cigars. A grab-and-go at the Sky Lodge serves coffee and pastries.
The Sky Lodge is steps from the One&Only Gondola, which transports guests in heated comfort to the Big Sky Resort’s Madison Base in five minutes. Besides skiing, guests have access to guided snowshoeing, fat tire biking and Nordic skiing. When the snow melts, Moonlight Basin’s trail network is a setting for guided hiking and mountain biking. Trout fishing and stand-up paddle board rentals are available at Lee’ Pools, the resort’s two private alpine lakes.
The One&Only Moonlight Basin has a kids club and a spa with glass wall cantilevers that open to connect with the outdoors. There’s an outdoor heated onsen and a cold plunge, while an indoor pool opens to the fresh mountain air in warmer months.
