PANERAI has unveiled the PAM01628, a new Luminor Tre Giorni timepiece that marries the brand’s storied past with modern technicity. Coming in a robust patina steel case, the reference derives its inspiration from wristwatches worn by Italian commandos during their underwater missions. A larger diameter was crucial for readability back then, which this new timepiece faithfully reinterprets with a 47mm case size.
Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO of Panerai, states, “At Panerai, our mission is to honor our rich heritage while driving forward with modern innovation. The Luminor Tre Giorni is crafted to pay tribute to the historical elements of our early watches, capturing their distinctive aesthetics and practical functionality. This timepiece embodies our ongoing commitment to blending tradition with cutting-edge watchmaking.”
At the heart of the PAM01628 is the P.3000, a manually wound movement with a three-day power reserve — viewable through the open caseback. The finishing of the P.3000 caliber is clean and utilitarian, reflecting the practical needs of the military divers who first used these reliable instruments. This new timepiece will be available exclusively at Panerai boutiques
