The owners of the Park Hyatt Hamburg have decided not to extend the third party management agreement with Hyatt and the hotel is shutting down on December 19th 2022. Park Hyatt Hamburg, owned by the Bach family, opened in 1998 and has not undergone any major renovations since. It has been operating as a dated and tired property, below the Park Hyatt brand standards for many years. The property will be re-branded once renovations will have been completely – very unlikely under any Hyatt brand. A four star Hyatt Centric has been announced for 2025 in a newly constructed building.
Hotel Atlantic in Hamburg (ex Kempinski), Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt (ex Rocco Forte) and JW Marriott in Frankfurt (ex Jumeirah) are the most notable luxury hotels (de) branding in Germany in the past 3 years. Hotel Atlantic is now affiliated to Autograph Collection under a franchising agreement, without having undergone any renovations in many years. JW Marriott Frankfurt has been fully renovated once it re-branded from Jumeirah, becoming one of the top ranked luxury hotels in the city. Villa Kennedy will no longer operate as a hotel.

Park Hyatt Hamburg closes Dec. 19, 2022
