Less than nine months after opening the first hotel in Mumbai under its brand, Hong Kong based luxury hotelier Shangri-La handed the keys back to the owner, High Street Phoenix. The property which is part of the mixed use complex, was re-branded Palladium Hotel, being operated by the owners, with the exception of the Food & Beverage outlets which were outsourced to Pallazzio Hotels & Leisure Ltd. Business media in India has been reporting Starwood’s St Regis and Mandarin Oriental are the two international luxury hotel operators which are in advanced talks to operate the hotel. A formal announcement is expected March 2014.
