The most recent treasure in the Six Senses urban collection will open at Piazza di San Marcello in Rome, just blocks away from the Fontana di Trevi and Pantheon. Highlights include 95 uniquely furnished guest rooms and suites, a spa, restaurant, events terrace, outdoor courtyard garden and rooftop terrace.

Six Senses Hotel Rome to open in 2022
You’re just a stroll away from the prominent luxury shopping streets of Via Condotti, Frattina and Borgognona. Tucked around the back of the semi-pedestrian Via del Corso, the main Piazza di San Marcello is quieter than you might expect for such a prime location.
Protected by the Roman municipality and UNESCO listed, the main façade, which overlooks Via del Corso, is being restored back to its grand origins. The central staircase will also be preserved. The interior design is by Patricia Urquiola, awarded “Order of Isabella the Catholic” by King Juan Carlos I of Spain and inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 2011. The ground floor is a social floor for gatherings, meetings, performances and events. The open kitchen trattoria and bar will lead out to a gallery and seating area complete with travertine marble, oak and bronze.

The hotel’s main restaurant will offer a modern interpretation of Italian flavors, experience and hospitality, while following the Six Senses ethos of natural ingredients, local and sustainable and less is more. Seasonal food menus will be based on natural botanicals and courtyard garden-harvested greens paired with house-made bitters, tonics and tinctures. The events terrace and outdoor courtyard offer a romantic backdrop for sundowner selfies.
Located on the first floor, Six Senses Spa and Roman baths will play an integral role as a sanctuary of wellness. With its calming vibe and contemporary design, the spa will house a range of treatment rooms, a fitness center and relaxation areas. The hotel will also host an Alchemy Bar for learning about the power of local herbs and plants in addition to an Earth Lab, which will focus on sustainable living.
The central floors will house the guest rooms and suites, many with notably high ceilings. A key feature is the range of quirky room types, staying true to how Six Senses likes to keep things original. The crowning glory is the large rooftop terrace with 360° panoramic views of the surrounding city and monuments, complete with an organic fruit and vegetable garden for recreating a Roman banquet or two. Studying and recreating ancient civilizations doesn’t get much more atmospheric than this!
Six Senses Rome is set to open mid 2022.
